Tow Ropes and Off Road Recovery Ropes
Tow Ropes and Recovery Ropes are a necessity when taking your Land Rover Off Road. It is strongly advised that you carry a tow rope, either for self-recovery or for recovering others! It's also good to have during adverse weather conditions in case you get in to a tight spot.
The stresses imposed during off road recovery mean a high strength tow rope is a must! The standard type of rope you will find in your local car accessory shop will simply not have the strengthor durability to get the job done.
We supply the tried and tested 8 tonne polypropylene or the 12 tonne nylon ropes which are professionally spliced and will provide good service for many years when used and cared for correctly.
In addition to our tow ropes we also supply the kinetic energy recovery rope. This is a very effective piece of equipment for many recovery situations, especially for difficult situations when a winch would normally be the only other solution. All our tow ropes are fitted with protective sleeves on the spliced loops for longer life.

Additional Information for Tow Ropes
What length of tow rope do I need?
Generally speaking, most tow ropes will be supplied at the UK standard of 4.5 metres (this is the maximum length allowed on a UK road), however we also stock an extended 20 metre version.
What is better, polypropylene or nylon?
Polypropylene tow ropes are the most popular all-purpose rope, coming in at a lower price point whilst not compromising on quality or functionality. They are very flexible with minimum stretch, and absorb very little water, meaning it won't shrink. Great if you need a no nonsense but effective rope which is for occasional use but needs to perform when required.
Nylon tow ropes are the strongest of all common use ropes. Whilst more expensive, they will last longer and overall, will provide a better tow between vehicles. Nylon ropes have a spring in them which helps to absorb bumps and jolts when towing, and when stretched, they will return to their original length. If you need a top quality tow rope that will provide reliable service for many years, then it has to be nylon.
