The modern, ultra strong, lightweight alternative to heavy metal sand ladders.
These glass-reinforced polyester (GRP) TracMats are a must for any serious off-roader. Excellent for recovery use when stuck in thick mud or soft sand, or as a bridging ladder to cross gullies and ditches which the vehicle wheel might not otherwise be able to cross. The TracMats can be placed just under the front of the wheel, and provide a non-slip surface for the vehicle to self-recover under it's own power, or in with another vehicle for assisted recovery.
The vehicle weight on the tyre is distributed throughout the area of the Tracmat, meaning the tyre will not sink.The TracMats will deflect under the vehicle load, however, because they are made of a glass reinforced polymer rather than metal, the inherent elasticity allows them to spring back to their original shape when unladen. The excellent grip is achieved through the bi-directional mesh construction.This allows aggressive mud-tyre treads to easily grip and hold onto the surface. A quartz grit surface provides additional adhesion. This combination creates unrivalled tyre to surface adhesion and grip greatly superior to any traditional metal sand ladder. The inherent strength, durability, reduced weight, and corrosion resistance makes Tracmats the only serious choice for an effective traction aid.
TRACMATS
TracMats use the latest high strength, low weight fibreglass to provide a bridging ladder which is ideal for a large range of off-road situations. TracMat is a fraction of the weight of its metal equivalent, won't bend, and offers an extended life with no corrosion problems.
On soft, boggy or sandy ground TracMats are excellent to provide an effective base for the vehicle tyres. The ladder spreads the load of the tyre to a much wider area.
The TracMat is strong enough to use as a bridge to cross gullies. Here you can see our Defender 110 with the extra weight of a mounted winch and bumper being supported quite happily.
Due to the gritted and channelled surface of the ladder, the tyre has a non-slip surface on which to grip.
TracMats are manufactured from corrosion resistant fibreglass. They will never rot, corrode or rust and there is no need for painting or maintenance, just hose them down.
The gritted surface has been added to give an extended life and provide superior traction even in the worst of conditions.
TracMats will deform under heavy load but will return to their original shape once the load has been removed.
